Bolivia Bound

Well, this wasn't at all how I intended this blog to be but until I can get my "spiritual" muse going, this will have to do.
So I am headed to Boliva... La Paz to be exact, at least for day 1. Apparently because the altitude is so high you have to take an entire day of rest and relaxation just to acclimate. I am okay with that since I don't actually even arrive in La Paz til 5:05 AM.. An almost 7 hour overnight flight should make great preparation for my first day at 13,000 ft! Then on to Lake Titicaca... the highest navigational lake in S. America. (Maybe the world... but I forget).

But the real excitement of this journey is that I will be traveling the country via the Bolivian highways with nationals who have so kindly agreed to host me. No translator either. So while my Spanish skills are still lacking for formal communication, I may just be fluent by the end of the week.

The purpose of this trip is to scout out the land, hotel, transportation and food for the trip I will be leading there in July. The "July Trip".. oh how that creates warm-fuzzies. It's not for everyone. Most people I work with would seriously consider finding a new job if they were tasked to lead twenty 16-20 year olds to another country who have never been on plane much less out of the country! But for whatever reason, most likely a Divine Appointment, I feel honored and humbled to take this journey.

As my friends were hanging out at the pool and warming up the grill, I was packing for this trip. I have to admit that I was not really looking forward to it. I don't really know why since I LOVE to travel but I think as I type this blog, reality has set in . It's not just a pre-trip to scout out details. It is the foundation of what the Lord will do in the lives of all these students, the lives of the leaders (yet to be selected), the hearts of the Bolivian children who will hear the Gospel for the very first time.
SO.. it's a big deal. Lord, let this be about your agenda.
P.S.  I think I found my "muse".

First things First

I am not really sure how or what to put on here now that I "found" my blog out in cyberspace. (That's an entry for another day). I had such great intentions when I had the inkling to start this but after all the settings and edits and configurations... Blogging has lost it's appeal.

I think I wanted my blog to be exciting with lots of cool information and have the outlet to share the random thoughts that God reveals to me in the most interesting ways. So, I am sorry if you are already bored. Don't worry, so am I!

My page is just a lackluster template with a few monochromatic fonts which has managed to put out my fire of confessions and caused me to exercise my ADHD!

So, if you don't want to poke your eyes out yet, you are welcome to come back for a more "interesting" visit.
